Leather Money Clips
The money clip is what's left when you take everything unnecessary out of a wallet. Cash, a couple of cards, done. It's the lightest thing we sell, it starts at $47, and it's the one item on this site that makes a man reconsider how much he's been carrying around for no reason.

Magnetic, not spring
Every clip here is magnetic. Bills fold once and sit between two leather faces with magnets set inside, and the magnets hold them. Cards go in a pocket on the leather.
That's different from the traditional metal spring clip, and better in three ways.
Nothing weakens. A spring clip loses tension over years and eventually stops gripping. A magnet doesn't tire.
It doesn't chew up your money. A metal clip creases bills hard at one line and puts a permanent bend in them. Magnetic faces press flat across the whole fold.
It doesn't scratch. No metal edge riding against your phone in the same pocket.
The tradeoff is capacity. A magnetic clip is happiest with a modest fold of bills, not a brick.
Will it wipe my credit cards?
The question everybody has and almost nobody answers, so here it is straight.
Chip cards are fine. The chip is a small computer, not magnetic media, and a magnet does nothing to it. Same for contactless, which is a radio antenna.
Magnetic stripes are theoretically vulnerable but it takes a strong, sustained magnetic field, not the small magnets in a money clip. In practice people carry cards on these for years without a problem, and stripe transactions have largely disappeared anyway.
Hotel key cards are the real exception. Those use a cheap, low-coercivity magnetic stripe, and they're genuinely easy to scramble. If your room key stops working on a trip, this is why. Keep it somewhere else.
What's here
Italian tumbled glove leather at $47 in black and brown. Full grain calf, drum tumbled soft, and the least expensive item on our site. This is the one to try if you've never carried a clip and aren't sure you'll stick with it.
Genuine lizard at $115 in black. Small, tight scales that read as fine texture rather than as an exotic from a distance. There is exactly one lizard product in the whole catalog and this is it.
Genuine ostrich at $130 in brown and saddle. The quill pattern, soft, and instantly recognizable to anyone who knows leather.
Genuine American alligator at $142 in black and brown. The most expensive clip here and still less than half the price of the alligator card case, which makes it the easiest way into gator we sell.
The best gift on the site
No sizing, no fitting, no guessing. It works for a man who already has everything because it replaces something he's using every day and hasn't thought about in a decade.
At $47 it's a stocking gift or a groomsman gift. At $142 in alligator it's a serious one that still costs less than most watches people give.
Living with one
Give it a week. Switching from a bifold means carrying less, and the first few days you'll pat your pocket looking for things that are no longer there. That passes, and almost nobody goes back.
Carry your bills folded once, largest denomination on the inside. Keep the cards you actually use and leave the rest at home.
For care, wipe with a dry cloth and use very little conditioner, less still on the exotics. A clip lives in a pocket with keys and phones, so it will pick up marks. On tumbled calf and ostrich, that's the finish arriving rather than damage.

Questions we get
Will a magnetic money clip demagnetize my credit cards?
Chip cards and contactless cards are unaffected, since neither is magnetic media. Magnetic stripes need a strong sustained field to erase, which a money clip magnet isn't. Hotel key cards are the real exception, because they use a cheap stripe that scrambles easily.
What's the difference between a magnetic and a spring money clip?
A magnetic clip holds bills between two leather faces with magnets inside. A spring clip is metal and grips by tension. Magnets don't weaken over time, don't crease bills at one hard line, and won't scratch a phone in the same pocket.
How much cash does a money clip hold?
A modest fold of bills, not a thick stack. If you carry a lot of cash, a cash cover suits better.
Can you carry cards in a money clip?
Yes, a few, in the pocket on the leather. For more cards, a card case is the better format.
Is a money clip a good gift?
It's one of the easiest, because there's no size to get right. Ours start at $47 and run to $142 in American alligator.
How do I care for a leather money clip?
Wipe with a dry cloth and use very little conditioner, less on exotic skins. It lives in a pocket with keys, so it will pick up marks, and on tumbled calf and ostrich that reads as character rather than damage.
